Problems with the Current Returnable Container System
The refund value for PET bottles is supposed to be 10 cents, but bottle depots often pay only 5 cents. Without financial incentive, many bottles remain scattered across Barbados. Here is our proposed solution to enforce the law and eliminate up to 20% of litter.
